Nice small pub to visit in town. It was conveniently located near my hotel so I took a quick walk to grab dinner to-go. The quality of the food and taste were excellent. I felt a little out of place as a non-local but not unwelcome by any means. I will return when in the area again.

Excellent service and food. In a time where restaurants are struggling with the lack of good help, this is not one of them. Prompt service. And my lamb starter was amazing and actually a meal for me. Absolutely fantastic!

I used to call this bar reliable in terms of seating. It came in the clutch. Many nights I remember thinking “let’s go to the Black Sheep because it’s usually quieter” and it was. It seems busier now and rightfully so, especially on trivia night where competition is tough. The trivia on Wednesday is pretty good. There’s current events, so you can study up to try to earn more points. There is also a music round which can be really brutal or really good depending on the genre. The general trivia is tough, but attainable with the right team composition. You can even suggest topics and music for future rounds. The host is likable and has a booming voice. If I’m being honest, investing in a microphone would be a good idea still. But as far as trivia hosts go, thumbs up from me. Even without trivia, this is a first-rate pub.
